THE NEW AND IMPROVED JUNIOR IS FINALLY HERE! It's THE NEW AND IMPROVED JUNIOR IS FINALLY HERE! It's been a long process, folks. Given the highly advanced technology available today, the simple fact is that cars have gotten really, really fast over the years. When Jr began on 2012, it was "the street class". It maintained that status for many years, but like so many other classes around the nation, it eventually fell victim to evolution and just got out of hand. As a result, entries plummeted, and the class was facing extinction. Well frankly, that just wasn't an option, so to the drawing board we went! Faced with a major redesign, we had options to consider. The easy way out and make it level would be to make it an ET-based class....but that just didn't feel right. Jr deserved more, so we kept burning away the dead wood until it made sense. Jr was originally designef to be an entry level class, so that's the approach we took! But, there's a twist. Designed to protect the class and preserve its intention, entry into Jr will require racers to apply, and their application will be reviewed to determine if they fit the spirit of the class, as well as the rules. It's an ideal compromise for many racers who might not fit into a strict "street car" class, but just aren't ready to dive into a more serious field. The entry process is outlined in the rules below, and will be updated on the website soon. PLEASE DO NOT SUBMIT ANYTHING YET. Gangster came about in late 2013, and has seen many amazing racers in the winners circle, with several winning the class multiple times. It was arguably one of the most exciting classes at its peak, and gave fans some of the fastest 1/4 mile small tire racing ever seen in No Prep! This decision to suspend Gangster was very difficult to make, but we are confident it is in the best interests of the racers, as well as the fans. Old School is one of the hottest classes we have in the event, and Big Tire is the most extreme class in the entire program, with virtually no rules beyond "must have doors"!
